The light fixtures that you have in your bathroom can give the room a certain look and feel. These fixtures add to the overall style and theme of the room, and in many cases the light fixtures in the bathroom are carefully selected to reflect the way the owner wants the room to feel.
When you clean the bathroom, it is likely that the light fixtures are often forgotten. Unless a bulb burns out, many people don’t pay a lot of attention to the light fixtures in the bathroom. But to keep the fixtures in their best condition and to ensure that the lighting in your bathroom remains bright, it is a good idea to clean your bathroom light fixtures at least every once in a while.
Especially if you clean the light fixtures fairly often, dirt and dust won’t have a chance to settle and the job should be quick and easy. If only done rarely, the cleaning of bathroom light fixtures could be a little more difficult.
When you are ready to clean the light fixtures in your bathroom, follow these steps:
First, turn off the light and make sure the fixture has cooled off. You might want to remove the bulb so that it is easier to clean the fixture, but this isn’t necessary.
Remove any shades or coverings from the fixtures if possible. Place these parts in a sink full of soapy water and let them soak for several minutes. This is an especially good way to remove dirt and dust that are stuck to the surface.
After the removable parts have soaked, rinse them and wipe or scrub them if needed with a sponge or rag. Dry the pieces off and replace them on the fixture.
If the parts of the fixture are not easily removable, use a rag dampened with soapy water to wipe dirt and dust from the surface.
To make cleaning easier, dust the light fixtures often, perhaps once a week. This prevents dust from settling and becoming difficult to remove.
If parts of the fixture are made of glass, try using a glass cleaner and paper towels to get them sparkling again.
To avoid stuck-on dirt and dust, just remember to dust in the bathroom often and wipe the light fixtures regularly. Keeping these fixtures clean is a great way to improve the look of your bathroom with little effort.
